Citizens of the territory currently controlled by the Provisional Government of Zverskograd have come out the in the millions to cast their votes in the Referendum demanded by the Treaty of Zverskograd. Nearly 40% of the population has voted so far with large lines still remaining at many of the voting stations across the country. The referendum and its results are being monitored by officials from the Socialist Republic of Ryudinia to ensure that there is no voter fraud or any other attempts to influence votes at the booths. On the ballot, voters are given the choice between three options:
(I) Restore the Voronin Dynasty to Absolute Power, with Sofiya Voronina as the reigning monarch of Zverskograd.
(II) Establish a Parliamentary Monarchy, in which the people shall elect representatives to serve in a legislative body. The elected leader of the legislative body shall have full executive authority. The Voronin Dynasty shall remain in a ceremonial position, and shall act as the De jure head of state.
(III) Establish a Republic, in which the Voronin Dynasty shall retain no legal power, shall renounce their titles, and shall be granted no powers or rights above that of the ordinary citizen. Should this option succeed, a pension of one thousand credits per year shall be set aside for the Voronin Dynasty until the death of Princess Sofiya Voronina.
Early results seem to indicate that Option II holds a small lead, with Option I close behind and Option III in dead last. However, this is only reporting from about 40% of the voters and there are still significant numbers of votes left to be cast and counted, so these results could change at any time.
