Title: Re: Gleaming City of Honoria bombarded, Imperial Celestial Palace turned to Rubble by South Ryudinia

A courier arrives to give Holy Emperor Theodoric the II the following correspondence:

From the Court of High Prince Vasili Gar'Lorik

Lorvasans across our noble land feel the pain of loss from ruthless Ryudinian aggression and terror attacks such as your holy land has suffered. Such crimes cannot be allowed to pass. The divine Celestials give you sanction already, but know that your mortal cousins from Cascadia support your crusade against the craven, unholy Ryudinians.

When this conflict has finally been decisively decided, I would be honored to help take part in the rebuilding of your palace, Lorvasan artisans are quite skilled, and together we can forge a monument truly fitting to the Celestials and their chosen line.

Title: Gleaming City of Honoria bombarded, Imperial Celestial Palace turned to Rubble by South Ryudinia

At 0500 A.M IST (Imperial Standard Time), a small squadron of Warships was sighted off the coast of the Gleaming City of Honoria, one of the largest cities in the world. The ships bore the mark of South Ryudinia, having been sent south from the main fleet to try and cripple the leadership of The Holy Celestial Empire. The Empire had recently joined the war against South Ryudinia, and had sent its navy to blockade the Holy City of Rodnatsia.

No sooner had the ships arrived, they opened fire on the city. The Giant Naval Shells did not however target residential areas as the City Administration had feared, but instead directed their guns at the giant Imperial Palace of Valeria. Within Minutes the Guns tore apart the Palace, spires fell down, arches gave way to the ground, and the entire palace collapsed in the Direction of Old Town, the primary spire reportedly breaking off to hit against a local powder manufactorum, creating a large explosion that obliterated the manufactorum and the surrounding street. As the street became a fireball, the rest of the palace slid and collapsed, smashing houses and towers in the oldest part of the city. Current death tolls are unknown, but the Emergency services estimate at least 300 dead or wounded. The Ships that fired the shells were swiftly intercepted by the Socialist-Celestinian Navy, and all ships were sunk, reportedly many sailors were executed by the Vengeful Celestinians as retribution.

Currently, no reports of Direct Royal Family members being killed are given, and one has been found amongst the rubble of the ruined palace. From his private reserve in the Celestinian Countryside, Holy Celestial Emperor Theodoric II delivered a public statement over the destruction of Valeria Palace.

"My most holy citizens, today we have been dealt a forceful blow. The Royal Valeria Palace, that has stood since the First Crusade was...completely obliterated early this morning by bombardment. The Attack came from South Ryudinian Warships, seeking to deliver us a blow that would cripple our Morale, as self-righteous retribution for assisting the Northern Socialists in war. Us Celestinians have had a long, proud history of glory, and pride in the face of utter defeat. Like the Heroes of Rodnatsia five hundred years ago, we will not be broken by such low blows, we will fight ever onwards for ourselves, for the pride of Honorius himself, praise be his name, we will not be crippled by a severed limb, instead we will deliver justice and retribution. I look at my subjects, and I see naught but bravery and compassion for your fellow Children of Honorius, I have been told of strangers rescuing fellow citizens from blazing fires, pulling the crippled and weak from wreckage, and refusing to leave a fellow devout to die. We will press on, we will rebuild, and we will triumph!" Theodoric put his fist in the air, sharply straightening his youthful back and features as crowds cheered his name and god.
